Baghel Graces Special Campaign 5.0 Drive, Highlights AQCS's Role as 'India's Gateway'
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, successfully organized a major cleanliness and environmental drive at the Animal Quarantine & Certification Services (AQCS) facility in New Delhi on October 29, 2025. The event was led by the Union Minister of State, Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, and was part of the ongoing Special Campaign 5.0.
🧹 Cleanliness and Infrastructure Praise
Prof. Baghel, who is also the Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, inspected the AQCS premises alongside Secretary DAHD, Shri Naresh Pal Gangwar, and other senior officials. The Minister praised the facility's cleanliness, maintenance, and well-managed infrastructure.
He underscored the critical function of AQCS, noting that it serves as "India's gateway for healthy animal imports," ensuring scientific quarantine and thorough health checks for all incoming consignments.
The drive saw active participation from AQCS officers and staff, resulting in a thorough cleaning of the premises, disposal of obsolete materials, and significant reorganization of work areas.
🌱 Environmental Responsibility and Campaign Success
Following the cleanliness initiative, a tree plantation drive was held under the inspiring national initiative 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (A Tree in the Name of Mother). Prof. Baghel personally planted a sapling, symbolizing a commitment to environmental stewardship and gratitude towards nature and motherhood. In his address, he drew attention to the critical issue of global warming and stressed the urgent need for collective environmental responsibility.
DAHD has demonstrated commendable progress across all parameters of Special Campaign 5.0. The campaign has not only focused on cleanliness but has also yielded substantial administrative improvements. Key achievements include the complete disposal of 214 Public Grievances and 3 PMO References, as well as the review of all 24,645 physical files targeted. Furthermore, the campaign successfully generated ₹5,54,753 through the effective disposal of scrap and redundant materials, alongside the completion of all 221 targeted site clean-ups.
