New Delhi, 23 September 2025 - The Ministry of Textiles actively participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025, conducting a wide range of cleanliness, health, and cultural activities across its departments and regional offices. This initiative aligns with the national vision of a Clean India, driven by citizen participation and institutional responsibility.
Health Camps for Safai Workers
In a notable effort, the Jute Corporation of India (JCI) Regional Office organized "Safai Mitras Suraksha Shivirs" for sanitation workers and the general public. The initiative benefited more than 200 individuals, offering free health check-ups, medicine distribution, and other essential services to safeguard the health of frontline sanitation workers.
Cultural Outreach in Mumbai
The Textiles Committee, Mumbai added a creative touch to the campaign by hosting Swachh Bharat Cultural Fests at high-footfall locations. These events showcased local and regional art, including traditional music and dance performances, to spread awareness about hygiene and cleanliness in an engaging, community-driven format.
NHDC Leads Clean-Up Drives Across Offices
The National Handloom Development Corporation Limited (NHDC) carried out cleanliness activities at both its headquarters and regional offices. A dedicated drive took place on 22nd September 2025 at 11:00 AM, followed by ongoing efforts to maintain clean and hygienic office spaces nationwide.
NJB Conducts Mass Cleanliness Drive in Kolkata
The National Jute Board (NJB) led a mass-scale cleanliness campaign in New Town, Kolkata, with the Secretary of NJB and other officials participating in the drive. The event focused on cleaning public and office areas, promoting both awareness and action among staff and citizens.
Deep Cleaning at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi
The Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms conducted deep cleaning and pest control activities at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi, ensuring safe and hygienic work environments as part of the campaign.
