SBI Donates School Bus to National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh under CSR Initiative

Leh, September 18, 2025:
State Bank of India (SBI), India's largest public sector bank, has extended its commitment to community development by donating a school bus to the National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

The school bus was formally handed over to Dr. Padma Gurmet, Director of NISR, by Shri Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle, SBI in Leh.

The ceremony was attended by Shri Jayant Mani, Deputy General Manager, Business & Operations, J&K Zone, Shri Anil Tondon, Chief Manager, SBI Leh Branch, senior SBI officials, faculty members, staff, and students of NISR.

Expressing gratitude, Dr. Padma Gurmet thanked SBI for its generous support and highlighted the ongoing activities of NISR aimed at promoting traditional Sowa-Rigpa medicine and public welfare.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Krishan Sharma reaffirmed SBI's commitment to social responsibility. He stated:

"SBI remains dedicated to supporting community welfare initiatives across the nation. This initiative in Leh reflects our ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with institutions working for public service and regional development."
